Forge had gotten to know the mansion layout pretty quickly, with the aid of his personal mapmaker on his arm computer, but had yet to venture into the Danger Room. He had gotten bits of info about it from various people, but finally got the nerve to venture down himself.

To say it was massive would be a gross understatement. He quickly found the computer link ups and plugged himself in...and was almost bowled over by the sheer magnitude of the system. He quickly learned how everything worked by his connection, how to create or modify simulations. With a grim smirk, he knew exactly the first simulation he would create.

A flurry of keystrokes and direct input from his link later, Forge entered the simulation zone. Instantly, tall trees and mountains appeared. It all seemed very peaceful...until a whir of machinery fired up behind him and a robotic voice blared in a monotone. "Mutant target acquired. Elimination sequence engaging." Forge whipped around as his plasma blaster materialized. Diving off to the right, he fired off a shot at the Sentinel that had come from behind. The shot put some damage on the left leg of the monster, but the armor was clearly too thick for one shot to penetrate much.

The Sentinel's arm popped up with its palm aimed at Forge. He dogded left just as a bright light shot from the palm of the robot. The resulting explosion sent Forge careening through the air. He landed badly, feeling something tear a bit in the muscles of his good shoulder. He swore in his native tongue, then hopped up and fired off another blast at the metal behemoth. It hit an invisible shield and dissapated harmlessly. Forge cursed again and tore off through the trees before he could be shot at again.

Finding a large rock to cover him for a moment, Forge did some quick tinkering on his rifle, adjusting to emmission signature slightly to a larger wavelength. Just then, the rock he was sheilding himself with rose into the air. The Sentinel was picking it up to get to him! Forge took quick aim at one of the eyes and fired again.

The eye of the Sentinel exploded brilliantly, leaving behind some wires that snapped and sparked like the giant machine was actually angry. Pleased with his successfully jury-rig, Forge didn't realize his cover rock was being thrown at him until it was almost too late.

He couldn't avoid it, so he amped up the power of his plasma blaster and vaporized it instead. A shower of dust and gravel pelted him at high speed, stinging all his fleshy parts and choking him with the dustcloud. Knowing the Sentinel would give no quarter and had sensors trained on him, Forge blindly dashed off in what he hoped was a direction away from the Sentinel. He adjusted the wavelength again on the run, waiting for his vision to clear to fire off another shot.
